{Edit: Pictures should all work now!}

I love them ferrets they are so pretty I want to nominate that last one of the ferrets for POTM they are just beautiful. I cant see some of the pictures. U have some very pretty animals////

Hmmmm maybe the reason you can't see some of the pictures is that I have them stored with Freewebs, so they might not allow remote hosting or something like that. At any rate, all those pictures can be seen on my website at http://www.xautomaticflowersx.co.uk under 'creatures' in case it doesn't work!
Thanks though... I adore all my little weasels and it's always cool to get positive comments!

P.S. I might just upload all those pictures onto imageshack or something and edit the post so that they work.

I love all your animals. What happen to your ferret if you dont mind me asking??I have 6 ferrets total.

That first picture of the leopard gecko is a great picture! I'd like to nominate it for POTM and secondthe nom for the ferret! so cute!

Thankyou!
Angel Lady we have the same number of ferrets! I started out with just two - Slinky and Flea... so Slinky is my only remaining original ferret. I don't mind you asking about Flea! Most of my ferrets are from a rescue centre, so their ages are a bit of an unknown quantity. Flea was obviously a lot older when I got him and he just stopped eating and drinking for no apparent reason and became really lethargic. He went to the vet who sent some blood away to be tested, but he got so much worse waiting for the test results to come back that I decided to have him put to sleep. If he had needed an operation he would've been too weak at that point. They suspected it was an adrenal gland tumour, which is something relatively common in ferrets. He was a great little ferret, a real gentle soul - it was very hard to make the decision to have him put to sleep but I know it was the right one. He'd even gone to the toilet in his hammock by the time we'd got to the vets, which he would never have done if he wasn't really ill... it was sort of like a final permission if you see what I mean. He gave me little ferret kisses as I took him out the cage, so at least he was still at the point where he was happy.
Here's a couple more pictures of Flea that I took in black and white:

I think you made the right choice if it was that ill. I just recently lost one of my ferrets due to cancer. It broke my heart. I didnt have a chance to tell him good by he was at the vets office when he passed away... I am always glad to meet another ferret lover like myself. So welcome to this part of the forum I cant wait to see some more pictures of your babies..

I just read this story again about the ferret, I am writing this almost in tears, I know it is hard to make a decision such as having a animal put to sleep. I know I will have to make some rough choices with my ferrets one day. I dont know if I will be able to give them up or not. I guess I will have to let my boyfriend do it, I dont know if he can either he is worse over the ferrets than I am. I just dread the day when that happens.. I feel sorry for you because you had to make a choice like that, I thought I was going to have to watch one of my ferrets die when he got into my mouthwash and got soused. He got poisioned because he dranked so much of it, I done a lot of praying and crying and he finally pulled through the day I was going to have him put to sleep.

Awww thankyou... I sometimes have a moment when I think of Flea and I come to tears myself! It's always so hard to lose such an affectionate animal with so much personality and character. Flea was a really unique little ferret... we used to call him a daisy picker because he liked to run in grass and sniff flowers . A real hippy ferret! It'll break my heart again when another one goes, but you just have to console yourself with the knowledge that they had a really super time with you and that they were always loved and will always be loved.
It's incredible that your little mouthwash ferret pulled through after all that! He obviously really wanted to hold onto life ^_^. I had considered just letting my mum take Flea to the vet, but I wanted to be able to say goodbye and have some sort of closure, so I was with him until the end. Since he was the first animal I've ever taken to be put down I really had no idea how upsetting it was, but after the initial period of mourning I quickly put myself back into my remaining ferrets (at that time it was Slinky and Moonshine - Slinky being my only remaining ferret from the original pair of Flea and him) and I was able to not feel guilty by seeing how happy my other ferrets were. Because Flea was just as happy and I gave him a really lovely retirement after having a bit of a rocky beginning (he was a rescue ferret).

I second the nod for the first leopard gecko picture for POTM. :D

Yay! Thankyou! :D

Your welcome. I love leopard geckos. I used to feed them when I interned at a zoo. If my mother wasn't so freaked by reptiles, I'd own a few. I'm partial to geckos, corn snakes, and a Burmese python named Walter who kept me company (he was my belt!) when I fed the geckos at said zoo.

Wicked! I love geckos as well. There are so many species that I'd love to keep if space, time and money weren't an issue . I'd love to own a royal python some day too... I think that pythons have the loveliest faces.

I do like the gego.
How ever you spell it.
Its late here....Yet I have no urge to go to bed..
