hey, i think my corydoras have laid eggs on the glass of my tank how can i keep the eggs alive 2 hatch help pleaseeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you!

Hi daniel_2kaii9 :)

I'm glad to hear about this. For starters, read this and follow the instructions for moving the eggs into a container. If the eggs are still very soft and breakable, wait a little while for them to firm up. They should be delicate and sticky, but movable.

What kind of corys do you have? Please let us know how things work out. Once they have started spawning, they will probably spawn again soon, so if you don't have luck with them you will have another chance. :)

i got a breeding trap i could put the eggs in to would that be ok and have u got to change the water in the tank everyday ?
i got bronze corys and albino corys but i think the bronze corys have mated :D ive never had eggs of fish before only babys

its more than likely that your albinos are also bronze but in albino form as these are the most commonly available albinos to my knowledge so you may have a mixture of the two types! time will tell.
keep an airstone bubbling the eggs to try and stop them getting fungus growing on them and if all is well in 3/4 days they will hatch :good:

keep us informed on the progress

Hi daniel_2kaii9 :)

You could use the breeding trap or try getting a plastic container to float on top. This will keep the eggs, and later the fry, from being eaten by their tankmates. You will have to either add an airstone or arrange it near the filter so that it has water flowing over and around the eggs. This will help prevent the first problem which is fungus. The eggs will take about 4 days to hatch, depending on the temperature of the water. If it's warm they will hatch sooner than if it's cool.

You will want to set up a tank to raise them in and get some food such as First Bites for them. Cory fry are much smaller than livebearer fry. If you have them in their own tank you can actually cover them with gook from your filter and they will happily eat the microorganisms in it for their first week or so.

Since corys live on the bottom, and that's where dirt and uneaten food accumulate, it's necessary to do daily partial water changes and stir the sand gently. It's a bit of work that is well worth it to raise your own corys. :)

how can i move the eggs from the glass and put them in the trap ? the eggs are hard and kinda really stuck 2 the glass lol ?

Try putting your finger next to one and push the egg gently from the side until it rolls. If it's still fresh it will come off and stick to your finger. Then you can reverse the process and roll it onto another surface. If you have waited too long it will have become hard and lost it's stickiness. Then all you can do is push them off the glass and try to catch them in a net to transfer them.

Good luck with them.

thay are kinda hard and there really stuck 2 the glass are thay ok ? its my bronze cory that is laying them shes still laying them right now lol there's over 100 eggs already lol

Hi daniel_2kaii9 :)

If she is still spawning, watch for them doing this:

The eggs will be too fresh to move immediately. You might try scraping the eggs off with something like a credit card if they are too firmly stuck on the glass. Have a net handy to catch them if they float away in the water.

I used a razor blade to get mine off. Worked well getting them off the blade was another thing I had to use my fingers then they got stuck to my finger and I had a hard time getting them off my fingers. You will get the hang of it.

i got most of the eggs of this morning with a net and i got them in a breeding trap about 1 foot under a airstone is that ok ? hope thay hatch! :D

Fab news!! good luck with your eggs, :good: thats the easy part, the hardest is keeping them alive

thanks :) but will thay hatch if i got them in a trap about 1 foot under a airstone ?

I would put the airstone in the trap if its a plastic trap,i find water don't circulate in these very well :)
