Hi folks,

Well thanks to all the advice from people on this forum I have now got my tank set up and the only thing missing now is the fish. I have not over done it with plants as I thought I would wait to see how long they would last, so far so good.

I have taken a picture (from the mobile so excuse the quality) to see if you think I should do anything else?

There is one thing I would like to add and that is the Juwel rock background, but that goes on the inside of the tank with adhesive which would mean me taking the water out to do it.

thats a pretty good setup but wat fish are u goin to put in

Very good question, have not got a clue. I dont want to put any fish in that eat plants.

I quite like simese fighters (Bettas?) as I think they look really nice so really I would like to add fish around that. Any suggestions?

I was going to ask what fish shall I put in first and if so how many?

Well you can get a sorority tank full of betta females. They have excellent color and personality. or maybe some tetras and cories...Those work.

Looks great! As for stocking, how big is the tank? :)

Arrowhead, you need to be careful with Tetras and Bettas. Some Tetras can be very nippy! Others will get along great though.

Thats rather fab looking :) Swords grow super fast and in a nice tall tank like that, when they grow a bit taller they'll look awesome! You might want to move them a little bit further away from the intake though as any bits that die or fall of may clog it up and because it may restirct the circulation.

Your tank looks super nice! Maybe you could have some fancy guppies, a fighter and a bright shoal (such as cardinals) and then some more. They're all pretty small fish thoguh... may look a little lost in your big tank. ;)

Some critters that go really well with bettas are otos, cories, khuli loaches, African dwarf frogs, and white cloud mountain minnows... just a few ideas :)

I would go with the cories myself. That way I know they wouldnt be any fin nipping. Tetras are the worst for fin nipping. I quit keeping them they were to much trouble for me. So I gave all of mine away...I love the tank it looks great..

I like it except those artifact/lost city decorations, as they make it look sooo fake while the plants make it look realistic, i would remove them and replace them with some rocks or plants. ;) ;) ;) :) :) :)

You have a good point. I have seen a hollow log ornament that looks very realistic, I may replace it with that.

I really appreciate constructive critisism. B)

lots of potential there, nice tank.

as to fish how about rainbows. you could get about 6 boesmani rainbows in there

or some blue rainbows (also called neon rainbows)

i personally wouldn't put a betta in there, there not the best swimmers and dont do so well in big tanks (they get worn out bless em  )

without the betta you can go with tetras, cardinals and glowlights are my favourites

Sterbai Cory

all the above will get along fine in a planted tank and wont eat the plants.

As to the background you are correct the juwel structured background needs to go into a dry tank (you then need to leave the silicone to dry for 2/3 days so i'm afraid it's a little late for that.

you can get background sheets from the LFS. i personally use plain black background as the plants stand out well against it.

stick a couple of black bin bags behind the tank to get an idea of how it'll look.

Hope that helps and good luck
