My Clown Loach has Ich

Hi,
I just discovered two days ago that my clown loach has ich. What started out with 2-3 spots is now probably 20 or more. I treated the entire tank (60 gallons} as I didn't want to stress my favorite fish anymore than it needed to be. I have treated an entire tank before for one tank mate's ich problem. Can't hurt can it? I figured it might prevent any new outbreaks or keep it from spreading. The first day I used Ich Clear fizzy tablets as thats all I had and it was 10 pm. I went to the pet store yesterday and the said to use copper safe, which I did and it now has more spots. What works the BEST?? This is my favorite buddy. I also have two new buddies for him waiting in a holding tank till he gets better.HELP!!!

The thing with coppersafe is that it takes up to 30 days to work, and nearly impossible to get out of the water after, carbon won't remove it. As for fizzy ich tabs, I have never heard of them.

I would recommend getting just your standard malachite green, formalin drop medication, raise your temp to 80-82 and treat the whole tank for 10-14 days, you also don't need to use as much as the bottle says. I have cleared ich by raising temp and using 1/4 recommended dosage without a problem.

Also, you are correct about treating the whole tank, it is the right thing to do!

Do I need to do a water change before I add the malchite green? I did add the fizz tabs last night and did not do a water change-so there is copper in there with the fizz tabs. I plan on doing a water change-50% tomorrow-and adding another treatment. You said to treat the tank for 14 days. Does this mean to add new meds EVERYDAY for 14 days? I assume I must do partial changes everyday?

PS-The fish are doing well despite the fact that there are two treatments in the tank-copper and fizzies!! I am watching them like a hawk to make sure they are doing ok.
