His seconds were in pedigree pup 6 - 12 months and fun catagory most adorable eyes! The winner of his pedigree class went on to win best in show so I was very honoured that he came second to him!

Awww, he's really cute! Great pics! :D I love the first one!

Was that a companion show he got his seconds in? I've just recently started showing my labs a bit, we tried Championship shows.. Everyone there is SOOOOO competitive!!! :/ We're going to stick to the open ones from now on :)

It was a charity show run by the kennel club with championship judges. All money collected went to our local hospice.

This did not stop the competitivness though. It was relly quite bizzarre. On;e lady entered her dog into like everything, never seen a pedigree quite like that! But she was horrible to the dog, it wouldn't behave so she kept getting mad. She was an amature at it with aspirations you know what i mean. No training on the dog whatsoever. To top it off, her son was entered in the junior handling classes (all of them), he didn't want to be there, and all she could do was shout 'you're doing it wrong'. Needless to say, she won nothing.

It just ruins it when people are like that doesn't it? :( We just do it cos the dogs love it and Meg (my mum's 'lap dog'!lol) is going to have puppies in a couple of years so it will look good if she's done some showing.

Our last show was a companion show just for a bit of fun, and it was held by our ringcraft class so we thought it would be a good day out.. and some evil old woman hit my dog!! He's only a puppy, and had NO idea what was going on.. Poor thing. She then went on to drag her 17 year old dog around in about 10 classes.. Maybe it was the same one you saw!

Do you show Gizmo 'properly' or just for fun?

We're getting there! We have contacted the KC about our local classes and we'll enrol when we can. He's just really shy, when he was on the table, he wouldn't stand up for the judge just kinda hung there in the end! :D

It was quite cold for him though. And I got told off for his lead being too heavy :*) It was literally the smallest lightest we could find, andything less would be string!

Yeah, you'd definately need a string one to show him in, or one of those very very fine chains! You should find out about a champ or open show near you and go and watch to see what the 'professionals' show them in, then wander around the stalls to see if you can find one for him! Oooh, and make sure you get the right colour ;)

Its taken my puppies months to learn to stand for the judges, they were always taught to sit, especially for treats, then we had to change everything to make them stand and they get very confused  at least with a table dog you can hold it up :D

Well he is a cute little fellow bo wonder he came in second for adorable eyes he should have came in first.. :D

Is a lead like a leash? If so, why not try a cat leash? Do they make those? I'm sure they do....

Beautiful chi! My sister has one and she's adorable. Much personality. Congrats on the win to you and your pup!

Thanks, I never thought of that!
