I happened to look into my tank and noticed that a cherry shrimp had gotten herself caught in between 2 plants. It looked like she was really struggling to get out. So I reached in and help her out. Upon releasing her to the open space, she kinda flopped around a little. I looked closer and discovered that all her big transport legs were missing and she now only has the small legs below and her tail. She seems fine otherwise, I took her out and put her into another tank and she went back to doing her thing with no issues.
She is fairly large in size, almost 3/4 of an inch. Nice dark red cherry shrimp.
I assume they will grow back after the next molt.
Also how long until the next molting happens?
