my black neon tetra has a crooked spine (is this NTD?)

Hi

Simply put, i noticed one of my black neon tetra has not been swimming as well recently and not schooling as much with the rest. On closer examination it seems he is a bit crooked, in the sense his tail is permanently bent to the left a bit.
The picture doesn't show it well but when hes at rest and not swimming its quite noticeable. Any idea what is is? I heard crooked spines can be a sign of NTD am I in trouble? I have him in a isolation tank by himself for the moment.

A crooked spine has nothing to do with neon tetra disease.

Neon disease causes the blue line to fade and go white, then the red line fades and goes white, then the fish dies. It's caused by a bacterial infection that needs anti-biotics to treat it.

A curved spine can be from a genetic deformity or a growth in the fish that is putting pressure on the spine.

Without seeing a better picture of the fish it's hard to say what is wrong with it but it isn't neon disease.

Oh i read it was in the late stages that why i was being careful.

This is a bit of a better pic. basically when hes resting/not swimming he looks like this all the time. bent at a angle, and he doesn't swim that well anymore. He also ignored the food I put in the tank for him today.

Think you mean a protozoan Colin ?
Or do you mean False NTD (Columnaris) ?
Real NTD isn't curable but pretty rare.

Agree this isn't NTD of False NTD..
I'd euthanise the fish
