When i was moving my metal stand it hit the side of my 75 gal tank chipping a corner. you can't see it through the tank from the inside of tank....and some little glass bits fell off.....but its not big and is more of a chip than anything.....do i have to throw my tank away...

which corner (top, bottom)?

Post some photos of the mishap so the damge can be assessed. Chucking can be avoided, as this type of issue can be fixed if your DIY is reasonable, should the tank not be fillable due to the chip :good:

Well, my inherited tank has a chip right on the bottom corner, the structural silicon seleant is now exposed but because its so thick, and the hole is so tiny that it will hold indefinatly.

I'll quote you on that later when you post about the contents of the tank being on the floor :shifty: Any place where there is a significant amount of structural silicone on show is an accident waiting to happen. Anywhere where the chip is longer than the glass thickness is an acident waiting to happen. Don't risk it, get it fixed, or keep it somewhere where the mess is easy to clean up :good:

You may get away with Spikey1007's situation for a while in a small tank, but rest assured it won't be indeffiately  It would be an instant failure in a large tank due to the volume of water and pressure involved...

All the best
