I cooked Gary (my snail) up a gourmet dinner of boiled cucumbers tonight so he'd leave my plants alone :grr:

So I cooked them, then cooled them, then dropped a couple of hunks of them into the tank. All of the girls went right for it, and they all ripped off a huge piece and were all flying around the tank with a big ol' hunk of fluffy cucumber hanging out of their mouths. It looked like a betta claus convention!

Anyhow, I was just wondering if it is okay for them to have endless amounts of cucumber in the tank to snack on all night, or will they overeat??

I don't know the answer to your question but have you tried it with the males? If it's not bad for them to have it in the tank as a snack I would really consider doing that with Rye since he's a piggy and is always hungry.

I dropped a couple tiny slivers into a couple tanks here and they LOVE it. I'm still not 100% sure it's even good for them to eat in the first place. eek! heh heh

I guess since someone told me to toss it in so the snail could eat it, that it should be safe for the fish to eat too.

I'm just worried that it won't be very easily digestible and they'll gorge themselves on it and have horribly bloated bellies.
