Thank you to all that answered and helped me with my perivious post. I have another question to throw out.

As memtioned before, i have a 10 gallon tank with one betta in it currently. (hes doing well!!!) anyway, i picked a really cool peice of driftwood that has little crannies and nooks to hide in and sleep in. anyway, its on the larger side, i sorta of planned this as i want to tie some plant to it later. anyway...

So its bleeding like crazy and the water is greenish/ yellow. I have been changing the water almost daily but it is just still so coloured! I have read that the beelding doesn't effect the tank, so i am not worried about that, but i would love to know how much longer i am going to have to live with a green/yellowish tank! Also, the colur seems to be throwing off my ammonia test.. cus the water is not clear.

so.. how long does the bleeding last?

and is it possiable for the colour from the tank to throw off my results? (i am uesing the test tube tests)

Thank you thank you!!!

The bogwood is leahcing tanins into the water which is staining the water.

It can take a long time for all the tanins to disappear though if the piece will fit in a sauce pan you can speed the process up by boiling it repeatedly until the water in the pan is fairly clear.

The only test it should affect is pH as the tanins will turn the water slightly acidic though it isn't usually something to worry about.
