My bettas color change

Heres my male delta, I got him at 4 months old and sold as opal. The first picture is from april and the second is from today. Would he be better called a marble? Haha

Hey indubitably YES he carries marble gene and maybe grizzle gene. That is why they are sold very young : colors and patterns changes happen between 8 and 12 months old.

I never knew there was a grizzle gene! I'm going to spend the evening looking into others as well
