My betta thinks I'm his nemesis.

I think my betta Dumbass wants to kill me. He's always flaring at me, giving me evil looks, and I often catch him lunging in my direction in his bowl and snapping his jaws at me. I think he thinks my whole office is his territory.

On the flip side though, he also seems to want to learn to eat from my hand. At first when he'd try it he'd end up jumping out of the bowl, now he just ends up biting my thumb. I guess that's an improvement!

No, I got no question. I just felt like sharing. I've never seen a fish with so much personality before. I've never had a fish I had to share a desk with 8 hours a day before either though........

I THINK he just bit me because he missed the pellet he was going for, and it was an accident. Who knows though? I wouldn't put it past the little bugger to use feeding time as an excuse to get a few whacks in.

LOL could be but he had it coming. He almost jumped out of his bowl again today! He's in good conditions. I change the water regularly and he's got a nice plant to catch some shade under and such. It's just his personality!

He's definately one of my favorite fish though.

make sure you have some sort of cover for the tank. i lost my favorite female due to jumping

Oh yeah he's got a cover. He's in my office and I usually leave him there over the weekend(unless it's a long weekend) and I didn't want to risk having him jump over the weekend. Now that it turns out he's a jumper I'm doubly glad I have the cover!

I wonder if I COULD get away with patting him on the head. Maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow. I bet I end up getting bitten though.

I'm sure you could get away with patting him on the head. My Apollo lets me and my fiance pet his fins and body! It's crazy, but then again... so is he Also, it's a very cool trick and he expects to be petted everytime he is fed...
