My Betta Died Today...

Well, after a long struggle my betta died today ...
For the last month or so, he had issues with tail biting- im not sure why he did it exactly, i altered his tank many times but it continued for a long time. Finrot then set in after i believe he stopped tail biting a couple of weeks ago- i treated him with a course of anti finrot and bacterial meds, although nothing ever seemed to help his condition.
I have to say, this have left me quite heart broken.
Right now, i dont think i want another betta. I think he may be the last, even though i hav only ever owned 2 bettas.
I think i will just keep his tank as an oto tank from now on, as it has 10 small otos, 3 apple snails and an amoured shrimp. I will probably still visit this section of the forum though from time to time as i have always done.

Just as a suggestion if you ever get another betta and it gets fin rot to the point that meds don't seem to work you can take them out of the water and place them on a wet paper towel that has gotten wet in tank water then take some small siccors and cut alittle bit ahead of where the fin rot is and that is suppost to stop it in its tracks. here are some flowers
