My Balloon Molly is Having Babies!

I can't believe it! Today I just got a pair of Balloon Mollies that I couldn't resisit. I could tell the female was VERY pregnant. . . she looked like she was about to explode!

I put them is a small quarentine tank, but as the bag with the fish was floating in the water, I noticed tiny fry huddled in the corner. I quickly moved the Balloon Mollies into the tank and she started having fry! I actually witnessed one tiny one pop out of her. . . it was cuddled up in a little ball and fell out and then unfolded. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw! As I typing this, she's still delivering more. I have a total of 9 fry so far! I'll keep you updated!

It was so amazing to watch her deliver the fry! In 10 senconds, she popped out 5 fry! In total there are 19 babies. . . 11 are black and yellow and 8 are yellow. They look so cute! The mother is doing great and didn't try to eat them! )

19 was the total number of fry! The mom delivered a lot of undeveloped fry still wrapped in their sacs. Sadly, nearly half of the fry died through the night but I still have 9 babies who's safely exploring the fry tank.
