Saw this old thread and it made me smile. Cuteness: 10 out of 10. BTW, this is the thing that happens with real wooden rods too. That's why I have one made of fibreglass. Fibreglass is hard enough and doesn't weight so much, that's why it's good for fishing. BTW, I also bought a nice reel for it from this nihonfishing.com site. Now I have the best rod ever. Well, at least it's WAY better then the old one. Now I can reel big fishes from the lake next to my house without any risk of breaking a rod.
