I bought my apple snail from the LFS around a month ago, and in the past week i've seen TINY little apple snails, i've done my best to get the odd one or two i see, but i was wondering how many more its going to have before it stops, as i only have one in the tank so these must of been from when it was in its old tank at the LFS.
Thanks.
Also, other than the 4 'tenticles' there seems to be another limb which well basically is like a tube and it occasionaly stretches this tube out and moves it around a bit, is this a sexual organ or where the baby snails come from?
Thank you.

Hi, I think you mean the tube which comes out from the left side by the snail's head? If so that is it's siphon. It takes in air to fill it's lung so it can breathe underwater. They sometimes extend the siphon underwater to test if they are near the surface or not. If you go to an applesnail website you can find out about it's anatomy if you want to. :)

lol, sorry it just looked like 'its tools' :look: . Thanks, but can any one help me with the snail having babies? As there isnt another snail in the tank, so it must be from the previous tank it was in at the LFS.

Apple snails can store sperm, not sure how long for but don't be surprised if it has more babies in future. They lay their eggs above the water line and the babies will die if the eggs fall in the water before they hatch. if you don't want any more remove the eggs before they hatch. Or just knock them in the water. Alternatively sell them in the buy / sell / swap section. I bought some nice ones a couple of weeks ago off a forum member for £2 a snail, it's still cheaper than getting them from www.snailshop.co.uk.
