Any suggestions on other things that should be done please say :D . Also I was thinking of having another lizard in with my anole but I was unsure what. When I was at my local pet shop they had a tank with small lizards that can not be handled and I was told they would go with an anole, I know that one was a green emerald swift but there was another that looked a bit like a juvenile beardie but was lightning fast and caught my eye, anyone have any clue what it could have been?.

Many thanks mattb22

I think anoles like to climb, so some branches might be good. Also, are there places where it/they can hide completely? It's a good idea for more nervous specimens, it helps them calm down.

Personally, I'm not sure that mixing species is a great idea. Reptiles can be pretty fussy about the exact temp, humidity, lighting, etc. they need, and unless they were from the exact same habitat, chances are one or both would have to compromise their ideal conditions to suit the other's survival. When it comes to herps, pet stores generally don't know their eyes from their arses, so I would take any of their advice about species compatibility with a huge grain of salt. My suggestion for a tank mate? Why not more anoles!

As for the tank, it is quite lovely so far! I would get some wood to climb on as suggested by the other poster, preferably something nice and gnarled, but with no sharp edges. I have something - maybe grapewood? - that my anoles loved. Its light weight, and the perfect width for small lizzards. You could also maybe buy some of the silk/plastic plants that can be hung from the back of the aquarium. They look nice, are great for hiding, and give the lizzards a less "open and exposed" feeling.

edit:

Yeah, grapewood. ^^

Thanks all for the advice.

I will get the anole and order another, maybe a brown aswell as a green?. I will also get some silk plants and grapewood. Any other advice will be great.

Many thanks,

Ok this is it now you guys think its ok?, i poured some potting soil over the sand as I heard sand can kill them and the plants are all in :D . Please take a look at the pics.

Many thanks.

House geckos would probably enjoy eating smaller anoles.

The best thing to put with your green anole is another green anole ;) :good: The tank does now look really awesome welldone! :)

Bearded dragons are best kept alone, and shouldnt be mixed with other reptiles. It will most likely, when older, eat your anole or injure it severely.

A beardie will eat an anole in 1 bite

the finished tank looks great but have you got UV lighting in it?Also they like a humid tank
I keep long tailed skinks in with my anoles they are a simular size but obviously the LTSs have long tails :hey: both are breeding every year so i must be doing something right
