In the last 2 days, my anenome has killed and eaten my 3" clown tang and 4" bi color angel. At the fish store the guy told me that as long as I kept it fed, I would have nothing to worry about. Is this normal???

Hi DriveBlock, welcome to TFF. :D

Just a quick question, have you actually seen the anemone eat the fish, or have they just gone missing?

To help you out, its often appropriate to let us know as much detail about the tank and the specimen in question as you can. Have you got an identification on the anemone? Do you know what Species, or did it have a common name when you bought it? :good:

Yesterday when I got home from work Immmediately went to check out my tank. What I saw was the face of my clown tang sticking out of the middle of my anenome. It is a long tentacle anenome. this morning when I woke up, my bi color angel was gone, but I did not see the anenome eat that one. I did not think the anenome would kill and eat such large fish. now I am walking on egg shells worried about my naso tang...

My tank is a 60 gallon with 40 lbs of live rock, scarlet hermit crabs, margaritsa snails, 2 clowns, 7 bluegreen chromis, one porcupine puffer, one naso tang, and formerly one clown tang and one bi color angel...

Sounds like a condy anenome to me. They are renowned fish killers and are not natural hosts for clowns. The clown may have gone in thinking he was safe and didnt live to regret it.

I've had a condy anenome for about 2 months now.. my clowns go in it time 2 time, but much rather my Bubble Tip Anemone... would anybody keep a condy? or was it a bad buy on our parts?
Ter

Clown Tang, now that's a loss... damn.

If it were me, I would rehome the anemone. One kill is ignorable, but two? Don't think so.

my condy killed my copperband butterfly and my collaris buttefly.
It was then removed and given back to the lfs. I would never have another.
