Not a massive tank, but all that will really fit in the space i have.

I've owned this tank for about three years now, always done alright and kept going nicely. Currently have one cardinal tetra and three swordtails. Sand substrate, mostly plastic plants for ease but have a couple of moss balls in there, bogwood and rocks...

It's pretty boring to be honest!! I've been looking for ideas on how to improve the scape but so far i've not come up with anything i am happy with. Had a fiddle around today and added some black gravel to one side with sand on the other but still not happy. Ordered some live plants from ebay so we will see.

Not the best pics but here's the tank anyway....

This was what it was before...

This is what it is now after i added the black gravel on the left....

Sorry for the terrible terrible pictures, old digital camera

Any ideas on how to improve?? Not got much spare cash these days so can't go out and spend what i used to so any cheap ideas would be appreciated...anyone have any spare plant cuttings they don't mind sending? I will pay for postage obviously

Hey. I think it looks good! i'd Maybe put a tall plant at the back in the left corner then just some carpeting plants on the right :) that's just what I would do :)

Yeah that sounds like a plan to me, will try and get hold of some carpet plants. Will post updates

Nice tank, texypie!
Carpet plants are quite high tech and need special lighting at the very least and possibly fertilisers. If you don't want to go that route try cabomba or egeria as space fillers - they can get quite leggy altho they can be cut and rooted as extra plants esp. the egeria.
