I would suggest 2 German Blue rams with like 8-10 Cardinal Tetras.

i would go for gouramis but definately not the blue 3-spot or pearl. in my tank i have 2 blue 3-spot, 2 gold and 2 honey gouramis, and have had pearl in the past. the gold and honeys are deffo the best. the honeys don't get too big but colourwise are awesome, and the golds if kept in good conditions develop a bright/electric blue stripe along thier bottom fin (dunno what the fins called, i don't listen too well in biology) if you would like pictures of my gouramis ask and i will try to help you decide.

The sand bottom is awesome, but be careful cleaning the glass. If a piece of sand gets on your cleaning mitt or sponge it will scratch the glass.

I've kept honey gouramis before, and I'm not really interested in having them again because I'm looking for something slightly larger (and actually, I couldn't get honeys locally and had to buy them off aquabid -- paid a small fortune too).
I've seen golds, pearls, and 3-spots all in the LFS before ... I guess the pearls & 3-spots just appeal to me more ;) Everyone likes something a little different!! :D

Thanks for the advice ... I've actually never had to use a mitt/sponge in any of my tanks (but that doesn't mean I won't have to someday). Thanks to my otos, I haven't had a speck of algae, so no need to scrub -- just careful water changes with a gravel vac hovering over the sand.

How tall is it? (angels...?)
It's 16-inches high ... a bit short for full-grown angels, I think. Otherwise it would be a great suggestion :)

... I think I've decided to go with:
1 pearl gourmai
8 cardinal tetras
5 otos (already have these)
5-6 cory cats (need to buy 3 more when the LFS has them in stock again)

Thanks everyone for ALL your help :)
