Not the shrimp I mean the plants. Not sure how big the plants get especially the crypts.

See the slab if cement attach to the drift wood? I want to hide it some how. I think best way is to attach a plant to it..... anubias nano or maybe I should just bury it? I'm not sure yet. Anyone of you have a suggestion?

I bury my slate that my driftwood is attached to. As far as shrimp being nocturnal, some breeds may but my red cherry shrimp are out and active all day long.

I dont think mine sleep.... but I noticed they are out in the evening or dark.

Like you I am working on my first live plant tank, looks like you have done some research. I have ghost shrimp and mostly see them out at night. I have neon, red eye and ember tetras they like to shoal so I would suggest at least 6 tetras instead of 2 in your tank. I have a 55 gallon tall tank and placed a large penn plax castle in the center. I have had some melt issues and a golden mystery snail that likes to go after some of my plants. I also add some marimo moss balls-the shrimp seem to like them and they are good for the water quality.

I started off with 6 tetras but unfortunately neons I got from bug Al's had severe ick and killed most of my fish... I cant remember the name of the ones that survived. Dont worry about melting my crypt and lotus did the same . And are bouncing back.

If one comes to the front I will take a picture maybe you guys can tell me what type if tetras they are.

I just check when I join this forum it was in September. So most of the plants were roughly added about 5 months ago. I swear my crypts are growing fast.... no wonder they are very popular.

Well today I bought 12+ cherry shrimp from a local. Unsure of the number because lol they didnt stay still for me to count. Only worry couple are babies and somewhat tiny. She gave me moss with them which I already has so I basically added to the whole in the driftwood with mine with said babies. I feel that my tank almost completed just want 1 more plant.

I now have around 20 shrimp. 3 blue diamond, 4 bloody Mary and 12+ cherries

Just fiddling with camera but this is one of my new cherry shrimp grazing on java moss.

I like the cherry shrimp, all I have in my 55 gallon is 5 ghost shrimp. I put them in there a couple of weeks ago. They were my 1st shrimp. I see them now and then. My Tetras seem to leave them alone.
