Mushrooms

I wonder if anyone can help.
I have had my little Nano tank set up for a few weeks now and have 2 turbo snails and a hermit crab in there to start me off.
I noticed today I have what looks like little mushrooms growing on the live rock.
Does this mean my water conditions are correct?,where do these come from and why has it taken them so long to grow?.
I'd love a few answers as I am green to say the least.

A picture of them would help us identify what they are.

If it is a mushroom, than yes I would say thats a good sign for water quality, but theres no way of knowing for sure unless you test your water for pH, nitrates, ammonia, alk., ect.
They would have came on the live rock which came from the ocean.
They probably took a while to start growing because they were out of water for so long during shipping ect.

As time goes by you will see a lot more things come out of your live rock. It actually quite amazing.
In my last tank I had a species of brown macroalgae that grew in "plates" that didn't show up for a year.
