Hi,
I have been made an offer of some stripped mushrooms, and I was wondering can I split the rock that they are on (divide the colony) and place them at different points in the aquarium. Also how fast/rate do these colonies grow (eg double in size in a month/week/year) Basically looking at placement requirements. Are there any special acclimatisation requirements other than the slow drip method I'm already using.
Any help is much appreciated

shrooms are hardy as anything, you can break up the rock and divide the colony, they'll spread nicely.

they don't wanna be in uber high flow, just modertate i reckon, and (although i don't know what lighting you have) again in most tanks can be middle-bottom of the tank leaving room in the high flow and high light areas for more demanding corals.

Many thanks Miss W.

If I may BigC, I'd advise against green stripe mushrooms if only because they are the fastest growing mushroom I've ever seen. Actinodiscus species in general are very fast growers/multipliers and those green stripes are easily capable of doubling in a month. I'd reccomend the solid blue or red color variety. They grow slower, and are easier to control.

Goog to know that Ski.
Many thanks
