mushroom coral

ok so i went and bought my first coral today it is a mushroom coral which i believe is of the Sarcophyton species. It is acclimatising now and all of the tentacles i think thats what they are? have retreated bacvk into the coral! is this normal?? thanks

Hard to tell...do you have a pic? Another worthy investment with a marine tank is a digital cam. Mushrooms are usually of the species actinodiscus (discosomia), ricordea and rhodactis. Sarcophyton are usually leathers. Pix, my friend, pix. SH

yes i do have a digital camera. i will take a pic when i get in from work today. i think everything is ok now as it has opened back out!
