Hey everyone! Im moving in a couple weeks and i have to move my tank. I was wondering after i siphon the sand substrate and clean most of the poo from it. Is there anyway to clean the sand completely before i put it back into the tank?

You could put the sand in a big bucket, run a hose into the bottom of it and leave it to run for a while. This should flush all the crud out the sand

Thank You for your reply! so ive finally moved how long can the fish stay in the plastic bags for? any precautions?

Quite a few hours, if you put oxygen in the bag when filling them. Less if its just regular air. Adding stress coat or prime will help as well. The biggest concern this time of year would be temperature swings. I'd keep them well insulated... a tailgate cooler might be a good option to hold the bags while you are in transit, etc. But, I'd get a heater into it as soon as possible.
