moving

well my family is moving and i dont really know how i am going to move my tanks and i need advice.
i tough i would just buy a 50g tub from home depot and borrow a heater and filter and cycle it then put my fish in there but how am i going to keep them apart i dont want my knifes to have cichlid lunch what should i do
