Hey, I'm moving back home for a month for christmas break and of course the tank needs to come home with me. Currently I have a Betta, one zebra danio and an Otto in it. What's the best way to go about getting them home? I have about an hour and a half drive there. Should I take the Betta out and keep him in a seperate container in the car?

6 gallons. I have a larger tank at home that's been running and probably cycled, just need to test that. I plan on moving them into it after a couple of days to a week, once they settle back in from the move.

For a tank that size I would empty about half the water, or what ever makes it easy for you to carry, and just leave the whole thing intact, fish and all.

What I would also do is buy a styrofoam cooler, but that in the car, then put the tank in the cooler. That will help keep the temperature nice and constant. Make sure the cooler is big enough to get your arms in on both sides of the tank, or you will have trouble with it.

Thanks, I didn't think of the cooler idea but I will definately do that. Also, I have a gravel bottom and a few plastic plants + a rock cave. Should I take the plants + the cave out? I'm a little concerned that some of that stuff could come loose if I had to stop suddenly and squash one of the fish.
