i currently have a 30 gallon tank running and i just bought a 70 gallon long tank and i want to put it where my 30 gallon is right now. the problem is i want to set up the 70 gallon so that it can run for a couple of weeks before i transfer everything from my 30. i've been contemplating moving the 30 gallon about a couple metres but i don't want to empty it of water and fish, etc. is there an easier way to shift the tank or would that stress the tank too much? i'd probably drain like half of the water but i don't want to drain it all.

any ideas??

I would put as much of the water as possible into jerry cans before you shift it, should not take to long and it's much better to be safe than sorry, I put a leak in an old freshwater set-up I had once because I was to lazy to empty enough out. The fish should be ok in a small amount of water if you are quick, corals, you could just place in buckets of water or a big poly box.

Good luck :good:
