if you have a mature reef tank, with 125 plus pounds of live rock, plus sand that has been in the tank for 6 plus years can you do a 100 percent water change and still put everything back in?

i have to move my tank and will only be able to save about 15 - 25 gallons of old water from the tank. I am going to have r/o water ready and made up before the move. is this big of a water change going to hurt? should I leave my corals in a tote with powerheads and a heater for a few days while the tank gets going again?

As long as it's well mixed and of equal temperature and salinity :)

Actually if you remove all water you will end up starting from the beginning. You will remove most of the benifical bacteria. I moved my tank from SC to maryland and saved every last drop.

^false, water contains almost no benificial bacteria, if the new water has same ph, salinity, and temperature you will be fine, it might be a good idea to start with new sand and the top layer of old sand, 6 years could have some pretty good disasters built up under neath
