Hi, im planning on moving my marine stuff into my juwel 240 from my juwel 120. I really dont know how im going to go about doing it as i have a fair bit of live rock, 3 cleaner shrimps, 1 dancing shrimp, 1 boxer shrimp, 1 turbo snail, 2 hermits and a clown fish. As well as a coral. If i took it all out and transferred the water over then that wouldnt work would it? Am i going to need to cycle some water?? etc etc. Suggestions are welcomed because i really am confused. Thanks.

Xander

I`d cycle for at least 2 - 3 months. specialy for agae eaters, unless ofcorse there is any on your LR.. but would prob cycle.. But when i converted me 4ft to a 6ft tank, i didn`t cycle, i just used as much water as i could from the old tank into the new tank and and transferred everything then added r/o over a period of a month just so nothing went bang.. i had no problems and didn`t lose any fish. But at that time i didn`t have any algae eaters as such.
All i know is thats a messy job. good luck..

IMHO you should be fine transfering all the water from your original setup & adding heated, salted RO to top of the 240ltr them adding the LR, then Fish

I have done it this way a few time with no lose's

OK that is good to hear, thanks for your replies guys. I was considering not transferring them and selling my juwel 240 if it was too much effort, but changing them over would be good because then everything will have more room.
Thanks again
