Hi,

Im moving house on Saturday, but the house im buying hasnt gone though yet. So im going to need to move the fish from my house to my grand parents and then to the new place within a couple of weeks.

Although this will only happen, if no one wants the fish, which i have put in the for sale section.

Has anyone got any tips for moving fish?

Thanks

Gary

Move them to your grand parents place now, leave them there for a few weeks/months then move them to your new place when your settled and there stable :)

2nd'ded.

when we moved, I had 6 tanks to sort out,

I moved the 2 largest tanks to my parents - running all the filter on them and condensed the fish into the 2 tanks.

This lets you "forget about them" while you move then when your ready, you can setup a tank at home - move some fish and filters and your away :)

As for physically moving them

Get a few large water barrels and move tank water in them (say 50%) not for bacteria, but to avoid stressing the fish further by giving them large quantities of different parameter water.

Get some large plastic tubs (with lids) and put more tank water in them and add fish.
(you can stick a filter to the side while your catching the fish and when you get to the other end as well)
make sure you can lift them and don't fill them more than 50% or they will slop and spill in the car.

Put any filter media you have in the tubs with the fish to keep the bacteria alive longer.

Then just empty and move the tank.

when you get to the other end you can set the filters and heater running in the tub to give you more time to set the tank up :)
