I am thinking about moving my tetras and zebras into my vacant 10 gallon. How should I go about mobing them. I know that when I come home from the LFS and they are in that bag I float the bag on top of the water so they can get used to the water temperature/pH level for about 10 minutes then poke holes in to get the water in their with them. Should I sccop them out of theri current tank with some kind of container so they can have some water they are used to and then dump that in the ten or is their some speacial way im supposed to do this?

If your 2 tanks are in the same room or at least close by, I would just catch each fish using a net and put them straight into the new tank from the net, no need to over complicate things. :)

Alright but I just thought of anouther question. I set up the tank last night and let it filter overnight to make sure my aquasafe chemicals got around to the whole tank. I want to place the zebras in first because I always use them to get a new tank up and running for two reasons. 1) They are very hardy and dont die as easily as other fish of that size and 2) They will wont make a ton of waste so I wont have to worry about my tank being dirty before I put anything in it. So my main question is do you think I have waited long enough to put them in?

When not doing a fish-less cycle, i have always run the tank empty for 3 -4 days before adding fish to ensure that the temp is stable. You are right to use the Danio's to cycle the tank as they are probably the perfect fish for that purpose.

what size is the first tank
if the zebras are zebra danios(which i guessed)
dont put them in the 10gallon
it isnt big enough for them!
they need to be in groups too

Well they are only in their for two reasons

1) to get the filter and tank up and running because they are hardy
2) Im breeding them and many sites say a 10 gallon would be acceptable to breed them in.
