Finally decided to see if its worth mmoving my clam as it would appear that its restricting flow and allowing cyno to build up (obviously more than flow at fault here but it is a contributing factor) but also by moving it it will be easyier to see, my concerns are that i may do it some damage if i move it, so thought id ask if anyone else has done this before and if so how?

Where is it at present? They should be on the sand or if they are on the rock work then somewhere where they are not going to fall. Calms generally like slow to moderate flow; it allows time for those tasty titbits to be pulled from the water. As for lighting the more the better particularly if it is a big clam with a thick mantle. Try to find an area with no confrontation is a possibility and flow is free, not narrow current through the rockwork. If it is fixed to the substrate where it is now DON'T pull at it hard. Damage the foot and the clam is dead..

Hope this helps

Regards

Agreed, if it's in the rockwork, you have to move the whole rock cause the clam's foot attaches the clam to the rock and as CF says, damaging the foot kills the clam. So take care :)
