I know ive been advised against this by u guys but i was wondering just how easy or hard or wrong or right or whatever, it would be to move a 4-5 gallon tank with water , from one bedroom to another?!! :S

thats so easy. :)

all you will need is a 5 gallon bucket (type sold for brewing or camping). syphon most of the water in to the 5 gallon bucket. catch the fish and place them in fish bag (s) (your lfs should give you some of these) you can leave all the decor and sand/gravel in the tank on a small tank like that. then carry the tank to where you want it. simply fill back up with the water you drained off and top up with fresh water. then float the fish for 5 mins and then release them. plug the filter and heater in and thats it. I move tanks around all the time and its not as hard as you think. :)

WOW!!!
Ive been told by a few people that it will stress the fish out if i buy them now but id love to give it as a gift with fish in!!!! it will be givin on christmas day u c so the tank is hidden in another bedroom but will need to be moved once its unwrapped!!!
cant wait to finish setting it up as its just got the background in at the moment!!!

To move a 5 gallon tank from one room to the other I would drain half the water, move the tank- water, decor, fish, and all, to the next room all in one, then just top off the water. Move and water change in one, no need to remove the fish in the first place.

I agree. There is no need to remove the fish. When i move (it was only a few blocks) i drained my 29 gallon half way and had friends help me carry it to the car. When i got to the new house i immediatly filled it back up and the fish werent stressed or injured at all. It will work fine in a five gallon from one room to another.. BTW what kind of fish are in there?? It doesnt matter for the move im just wondering..
