Mould On Red Wood

The redwood I have put into my tank a few days ago has started to look mouldy from all the cut ends of the wood, looks like white algae. Is it the sap from the wood? Anyone got any ideas how to stop this?

Its fungal growth, wont do any harm and will disappear eventually. You can scrub it off if you want.
