Mould On Petrified Wood

I have 2 pieces of wood that was brought from a local pets hop cleaned etc. soaked but after being in my fish tank it grew some mould so cleaned it again but the same has happened anyone know why this is happening

Any help with what I can do to sort this

Sometimes wood will develop a white fungus, looks kind of fluffy. It will eventually die on its own and won't harm the fish.

Oh right so I can just leave it? Washed it a couple of times and came back just wondering if it was because I have no lights at the moment
