I just counted 104 fry and I am certain I missed quite a few. My fish will not eat or touch them.
I need a good community fish that will definitely eat fry. Any suggestions please? I have guppies, mollies, platies, shrimp, neons and zebra danio's.
thank you

Wait, so you want a fish that will eat your fry?

I have to do something. These are all very young about 3/16 to 5/16 inch long and I have 4 more that are really big and about to have more. My fish won't eat them so all will be safe.
i tried to get some when I did a water change but they are really fast.
Sadly, my favorite fish are live bearers for the most part. But if I can't solve this problem, I will have to go with egg layers and I really don't want to do that.

Sell them!

Can't you just make a little and sell them when they grow up?
Transportation is something I am really having a hard problem with. Due to my age and eyes Georgia took my license and the kids and grandchildren are always too busy.
Besides if I let all of them grow up the bio load would overwhelm my filters.

Getting a fish to eat your fry, that are lives and someone's kids, is cruel.
Better to donate them to your LFS.

Is there any way? Like ask your LFS I'd they would take them? Craigslist?
My nearest LFS is 65 miles away and I have no transportation. Look, I get it, you want them all to grow up and have happy lives but I don't have the resources to do that. Nature's way is my only reasonable option or the freezer and throne.

That makes sense. Not sure what to do. Any fish I can think of wouldnt do well in hard water (which I assume you have as you have livebearers)

Hmmmm you do realize I had fish for dinner yesterday. Also you do realize in most cases that the mother usually eat their own young and they are fry not kids. I believe in being kind to animals whenever possible but I also believe in natures way. You can carry a thing a little too far.
If you wish to drive down here and catch them, then take them to a LFS, you are more than welcome to do so.

I'm sorry?
