There's a fin in the bottom left corner of the first pic, are they fry? Kept together>? I wanna see a side by side pic, go snap one!

The fin would be another female. I haven't picked out a male or tried to breed Americana yet, so she's in my community female betta tank right now.

I have never seen this guy flare, even when I put a female near him, but he's an active guy and hard to get a clear picture of. He's missing his ventrals and no one wanted him so since I had the room, I gave him a home as the missing ventrals don't take away how deep and beautiful his red coloring is.

Is that two females in there?

No, there are about 15 females in a 30 gallon tank with loads of hiding places. The only female in there that has nipped fins is the one I bred a month ago with an overly aggressive male. I know not to keep just two or three females together in a tank as they will fight, which is why I now have so many. Since upping how many I have, I have had no problems with aggression between them. The picture of Desert was taken when she was still in her cup from the lfs. The bottom of my tank has blue and purple rocks.

That's a NICE one! He looks like at least a delta tail. Set him in a dark corner where there are no sudden movements or bright lighting. Station him there for a week. Then bring him into regular lighting and get a mirror. He should flare by then. :)

Quartz and Lilac (who has purple fins, not blue) getting know each other:
