More Gravel Questions

right im about to go out and buy new gravel but was wondering if there was any gravel or substrate i could buy from garden outlets or diy stores (ie. decorative garden gravel) and what iu would have to do to it to make it suitable for going into a tank!!

is this possible or will it have to be aquarium gravel??

Childrens "play sand" is a good and cheap option....

I went out on Sat and got a bag of Gravel from my LFS. The cleaning of it was very time consuming, but well worth it, the tank is looking good, I also got another piece of bogwood, which I soaked well. It's allways very tempting to add straight away only to find problems occuring later. As the old saying goes ' Slowly, slowly, Catchie Monkey'.
