Came home today to 50 more eggs. All safe and well, put into a plastic container floating in my fry tank. I have about 20 ten day old fry in the fry tank.

When they hatch can i add them to the fry tank? The container they are in holds about 4 litres. And the tank is 24x15x12.

If this continues im going to be over run with fry! :S

How big are the fry that you got from your first batch? The general rule is they won't be eaten as long as they can't fit whole into the predators (other fishes) mouths. There may be a bit of chasing, but I can't see too much of a problem.

Others please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this. :)

When you say fry tank, what fry have you got in there?? If it is only cories, you could add the new fry at about 10-14 days old. I have a fry grow out tank with a breeding net which holds the eggs and new fry till they're about 14 days old and then I release them into the fry tank with all the older fry. At the moment, I have fry from 3 weeks to nearly 6 months old in the tank. But the tank only has cories and oto fry in it.

Good luck.

Its only cory fry.

Well the eggs have hatched. I have been away with work all week. (Sister has been looking after the tanks) My first batch of fry have doubled in size, can't believe it!

I will take some pictures later.

So at about 2 weeks i can move the newer batch in?

I generally moved them from 10 - 14 days old into the cory fry tank. They do tend to hide away for a while, only coming out to eat, but eventually, once they've got used to their older siblings and surroundings, you see these tiny little things swimming around. The only time the cories will eat each other, is if the one being eaten has died. They are scavengers, but they don't eat live, healthy cories or other fish for that matter.

Good to hear all is well. I'm looking forward to the pics.
