Hey,

Been taking some more pics of my lot so thought i'd post some up to bore you all with!

So... I gave Ozzy and Jake some fruit while they were in my room earlier.. Jake waited politely for me to hand him bits while he was on my shoulder.... :D

... But Ozzy helped himself!lol Hardly suprising though as he lets himself in and out of his cage aswell!lol

Your birds always look so happy and healthy,Jessica. Good job.

We're getting one at Christmas time this year, I think we've decided on a peach faced conure, we're quite excited!

oooo how cute - they really are gorgeous

You cant go wrong with a conure! They're fantastic little birds, i'd have a house full of them if i could! And a peach faced (front over here!lol)?! :hyper: They're SOOO pretty! We dont see them around much over here, you have to go to specialist breeders for those and they're very expensive i believe! You'll have to post some pics when you get him! :D

And thank you all :D I agree, they are all gorgeous :p  And i think most of them are happy.. Except Ozzy, but he's a grumpy conure..

They look great, Jessica! :D The lovebirds are really cute...I love the picture of the pair together.

They are beautiful Jessica I wish I could keep birds but I only have one and everytime I leave the house I am scared to death to come home because I am afraid one of the cats have killed it.. I sure dont want to have to go through all this again with another on......

I have five cats and have yet to have any problems at all! :D Im assuming your bird is in a cage when you go out? If he isn't he really should be for his own safety :) And if he is then its very unlikely you have anything to worry about with the cats, they wont be able to open the cage! And if you're really worried, just shut the door of the room the cage is in so the cats cant get to him! :D

I love lovebirds  Is it possible to get a pair and only have one handtamed, or do both need to be? I'm interested in getting some, but I don't think I'm home enough to keep just one but want a bird that is tameable, but I don't know if I'm up to keeping two tame -_-

Hmmm... Lovebirds aren't the easiest birds to keep tame. They need regular handling to keep them from turning nasty :/ None of mine have been tame. The green one will step up and sit on me without biting and stuff, but he prefers not to  And the blue one, i've not tried to tame too much as she's only just got here  But she'll let me pick her up and wont bite which is all i want. Im happy for these to be a little less tame as eventually im hoping to move them into an aviary :)

A cockatiel might be good for you if you just want one bird. If you get a hand reared one they are really cuddly! But they do need plenty of interaction and time out of the cage.. At least the lovebirds can occupy each other i guess! Its up to you really, but both tiels and lovebirds are loud!!

TY.... Cockatiels are nice too, I just love the pastely colours on lovebirds :) Yours are particularly nice :) Jakes pretty too  . I guess I'll stick with fish, my rooms not mightily big for flight outside the cage and the cats will love a quick snack. Especially Molly :/

Jake cost WAY too much money, i wouldn't advise him  Nah.. Cape's are said to be one of the most gentle parrots, but because they're so hard to come by 1) you have to find one (i was VERY lucky finding Jake) and 2) you have to be willing to blow a whole lot of money on it.. Which unless you're really into birds im guessing you aren't wanting to do?

If you want a nice little pair of lovebirds then go for it. Just make sure you have a nice big cage that they can fly around in, plenty of toys and perches, and that you let them out every now and then to fly around :) To be honest, they tend to perch mostly though, mne dont fly much when they're out at all, its just good to let them stretch their wings :) And you just have to be a little more careful with the cats around, thats all :p

But i think everyone should have a conure anyway.. Go buy one of those! :D
