MORAY EEL LOOKS SICK!!!

my freshwater moray eel keeps laying on the floor without moving and leaning its head on the sand!!! it would sometimes go into my ornamented rocks that i would put in there..but it just drops its head out of the top ends and hang its head!! and when it would breath..the incoming water wouldnt come out of both sides of its gills!!! only one would open up!! please help me i love my eel i dont want it to die or anything..


-40 gallon fw tank
-8 zebra danio
-1 moray eel
-many feeder ghost shrimp


PLEASE HELP!!!! AND GIVE AS MUCH ADVICE AS POSSIBLE!!!

Do you know Freshwater Moray Eel (Gymnothorax tile) requires Brackish water of an SG of above 1.005? Is you tank Brackish water?

I would go buy aquarium salt and follow the directions to raise the salinity level but be careful not to raise the level too fast. There should be directions somewhere on how to do it or talk to the fish store that you got it from.
