I finally got wood for Fred but its mopani driftwood I know you said it was pretty hard for him but thats all they had.

Look on Ebay Lots of decent proper bogwood ...

It's better than nothing, just either buy online or keep an eye out in shops

i get the impression from my bit of mopani that the darker wood is softer ? might be coincidence, but my plecs are always found munching the dark bits, not the light bits.
