what do moonlights do exactly and whats a good brand and color

Colour = Blue? Thats the generally proffered colour anyway. Brand? Any really. You could use LED's, DIY your own from some car parts (You know those neon lights under cars), or buy some form a cheap store. You can also buy them offline or ebay already made, brand doesn't really matter for something so simple. There function allows you too see Florescence in coral after dark, slowly acclimates your tank fish and inverts to "dark" hours, rather than just having lights turn off abruptly, and they could also follow the lunar cycle if you wanted to blow a few $$$$ on a fancy system.
