anybody have these? How awesome are they?????

my lfs got the hoods with them a few weeks ago and I like, I like!!!

But then today they showed me a little light that replicates " a peaceful nocturnal enviroment" and it just plugs right into the wall! I would LOVE some on my little green lorie babies tank    , they're supposedly nocturnal but...lights out and they stop eating and run to their "spots", leaving a mess of bloodworms behind

So, are they worth it?

I thought you meant moonlight gouramis. I was thinking, Yes, they're very beautiful fish, but not exactly a huge rarity or new to the scene. hehe

    , I didn't even think about that :*)

wonder if I can edit the title..... :p

I use a moonlight tube in my main tank so that i get a chance to see my nocturnal predators, they work well but IMO you need to get one that is smaller than recomended for the tank size or they are too bright, i use a 18" tube in a 48" tank.
They also bring out any blue colouring on your fish if left on along side the usual daytime lighting.

:fish: I've seen pictures of tanks equipped with the new Moonshine brand of night light, and they look amazing! I'm dying to get hold of one. :drink:

very interesting thread smb, I never even noticed it

these were not tubes, they're more like a "pen light",one teeny tiny bulb with a plug in adapter, so I don't imagine they'd be too bright. But they looked awesome, the $40 price tag is what held me back....but I want that tank to be as peaceful & "realistic" as possible, maybe they'll spawn someday  . I think I'll get one

Wow I went to this sight were they sell moonlights and the cost of one is like $83.00!
Too expensive for me

What was the link? :)

I just use a "nightlite" which is a light from a small aquarium. I would like to get some looks at the way people use moonlighting. :)

Oh ok, sorry. :) I'm not all that knowledgable about moonlighting at all. -_-

Let us know what you get or are looking at so I can learn right along with you.

You could try those rope lights you can by at WalMart or other department stores...they're like 10 bucks...comes in purple. green, blue, red...I have been meaning to try those but keep forgetting to pick them up when I am there...
