Lately I've been fighting an algae war( and been winning!!!!!) But Ive had to turn off the lights. And I have notice these aiptasia's only come out in complete darkness. The lights come on and then they dissappear in the rock. Its strange... anyone ever heard of this?

Aiptasia are predominantly photosynthetic, so, perhaps the reduced lighting is causing a 'shock' when you turn on the PC's. SH

If you havent checked my journal lately I got the halide about 2 month ago. But thanks for the help SH. Its kinda weird they sink right back into the rock when the lights come on.

if they retract back into the rock really quickly then they could be barnacles or tube worms. Aiptasia stay out all the time
