Noticed that two of my plating corals seem to be going a pale colour at the bottom of the stem. Does this indicate that they are dying?

Here`s a couple of photos.

Parameters are nitrite 0, nitrate less than 5, magnesium 1530, calcium 480, kh 12, pH 7.9 and 1.025.

Thanks for any advice.

Phosphate could be the problem but I agree mag is very high which salt are you using ? Red Sea Coral plus?

Phosphate is 0.

Is it best to take them out of the tank and bin them?

Using TMC salt.

Will reduce the magnessium. Would this have caused them to die off?

Too much Mag can cause problems and poison corals the figure bounded about is 1600 not sure on which test kit you are using but most are only accurate to 10% it should say on instructions.

No need to bin reduce levels and it might recover are you buffering mag if not mix up some salt water and test mag on that
