im currently using EI as my dosing scheme and was wondering if i really needed kh2p04 to add to my dosing routine ? right now im dosing kn03 and micros via sera florapride and hagen plantgrow....

i am a bit hesitant on getting the kh2 because i have to order it online and have it shipped into the country

What's your PO4 level? If it's between 0.5 and 2ppm then I wouldn't worry.

thats the problem... i dont really know my levels and cant find a test kit here

Unfortunately that's an impossible question to answer without knowing your PO4 level.

As gf said, you may get away with it if you already have a decent amount of phosphate in your tap water. But if you have high lighting and all your other parameters are sufficient, I would think you would need at least 2 mg/l coming through the tap, probably more.

il try to scour the local lfs for p04 it should be worth getting the test kit

Think you could call your water company and ask if they can tell you the levels? They might test for that already, and would probably be able to tell you.

You can use Fleet Enema as an alternative to pure Potassium Phosphate, you can buy it in any chemist, its really cheap, its what i use as a source of Phosphate, i couldnt get the chemical form either, but you still need a test kit.

But the Fleet Enema works perfectly as an alternative, it comes in a liquid form.

The bottle i have says, Fleet ready to use enema Phosphate Formula, it comes in a green and white box, it should only cost about a US Dollar, see if you can get that and ill show you how to work out the doseing, anyway works for me.

fleet enema... wait an enema is .... hmmm a drugstore maybe ? i should ask the drugstores around or should i really look for a chemistry supply source ? im gonna look for a phosphate test kit tom in a local fish err markeyplace, probably will get me some driftwood and java moss and maybe some fish food hehe shopping!!
