well i had trouble convining my mom to get an snake heck noew i breed them i wouldnt start off with a tegu they can be very aggressive i would get an king corn or milk snake then work your way up to lizard like i did

I have to agree you need to start with something a lot tamer and easier than a Tegu

Do you have the space for a tegu? Actually I agree with the other 2, tegus aren't for beginners (if you haven't had lizards before), what about starting with a bearded dragon of something similar?

I've had a ton of other animals, (and still have a lot of them). I think I'm ready to step up from House Geckos and a Beardie that accidentally got loose.(and accidentally backed over with the family van.) But I'm also quit skilled in the art of carpentry for my age. I mean, I'm just 3 months and 10 days from being 16. I'm getting myself into this, so why not help. Plus, I've tamed my friend's savannah monitor before(he was clueless when he got it,so I helped him calm it down), how much more different can taming a tegu be? Plus I plan on dolling out enough cash for a CB established juvenile, so what do you think?

tegus are different than monitors tegus can be more agressive just go up slowly maybe an a iugana or knight anole then a smaler tree ackie or montitor or even the beardys or enen a pac man frog or a snake they are easier to care for

They are pretty though. I might as well get a monitor of my own! Either that or a new beardie.
