My VERY pregnant momma died in childbirth just about 20 minutes ago.... -_- didn't know if this would work, :dunno: but I massaged her belly and the remaining babies came out...they still had yolk sacs but were trying to swim....now they are just laying on the bottom of the plastic breeder box I put them in to keep an eye on them....anyone have ANY suggestions? Or do I just have to hope for the best? One or 2 are free swimming.
Any thoughts are appreciated......

Well....out of the 45 babies, 40 died. But 5 lived! They are swimming and eating normally and may just make it..... :kana:

sorry to hear it mate, but thats fish keeping for ya i suppose but well done on the 5

Did you keep the mother in a breeding trap? That could have lead to her death from stress. Or it could have been just natural stress from pregnancy that has happened to a few of my female guppies. I hope you can help the little fry, you gave them a chance at life that they wouldn't have had otherwise. Try feeding them baby brine shrimp, thats their favorite.

The babies are doing very well. eating vigorously and swimming with the other fry....no, the Momma was in the birthing tank, a 10 gallon set up with plenty of plants and cycled and some other Moms......she wasn't fighting with anyone. She was struggling to push a baby out and she kind of went sideways a bit and kept trying to push and then died....was sad. I think these 5 may live.......
